South Sound Classical Choir firstname.lastname@example.orgThe South Sound Classical Choir, under the auspices of the Valley Arts Society, is made up of 60-70 volunteer members from Puyallup and Tacoma, Washington and surrounding South Puget Sound areas who enjoy singing and performing classical choral music and modern works with a classical sound. Weekly rehearsals for our spring concert season begin the first Monday after New Year's Day at Mount Tahoma High School, 4634 S. 74th Street, Tacoma, from 7 to 9 pm. We take summers off and begin our fall season the first Monday after Labor Day. Dues are $20/month, but new members get the first month free. In addition, members in financial difficulty can speak to the treasurer privately and be put on scholarship. Auditions are not required, except for those requesting to sing solos during our performances.
Unfortunately we have had to cancel both our spring and fall 2020 concerts due to the coronavirus pandemic. Hopefully, we will be able to resume singing in 2021 even if only virtually. If you would like to listen to some of our work, go to YouTube.com and type in South Sound Classical Choir. You will find 12 pieces of ours, including The Ground by Ola Gjeilo, the piece which got us invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York. Enjoy!
This internet site is provided to facilitate communication between members of the choir. Former members and friends of the choir are welcome to join our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/sscchoir/. If you would like to become one of our beloved financial supporters, please click on DONATE! Thank you for your generosity!
Since there are no auditions you can just find a seat and start singing. For more information, contact choir director Sheri-Ann Nishiyama at email@example.com or visit http://www.southsoundclassicalchoir.org.
